Founder Shelly Villella-MacIntosh created Rekindled Wedding Company for a few different reasons… her twenty year secret obsession for all things wedding related, based on her own personal experiences when planning her own wedding, and because she wanted to create an affordable way for budget-conscious Brides to find stylish wedding fashion & decor.
During her own wedding experience, she purchased a bridal gown immediately then unfortunately had a change of heart. The Bridal shop where it was purchased would not cancel or refund the expensive order (totally understandable) so she searched high and low for a bridal store that would be open to buying or selling the gown. Only one local bridal shop (yes, just one shop!) was available and automatically charged 50% of the original ticket price; a brand new dress that had never been altered or worn and she had to pay a crazy 50% to the store!
Shelly wanted to create an online marketplace where Brides could sell their brand new or gently used bridal gowns, bridal accessories, and wedding decor items all in one place. Making the overall experience pleasant, making it affordable for budget-conscious Brides, and making it easy to dispose of leftover items. She also envisioned a place where Brides could easily locate vendors; vendors align themselves with Rekindled Wedding Company by advertising their wedding services and showcase their custom wedding pieces. Overall, creating a one-stop-shop experience.
– Buyers register and browse for FREE.
– Sellers pay $10 to post one item For Sale or For Hire (makes most sense for larger/expensive items) or $25 to post up to five items For Sale or For Hire.
– Vendors pay $60 to showcase their service(s) for six-months or $100 for one year.
No other fees, NO commissions, and Sellers manage and update their own listings and negotiate their own transactions privately with the Buyer.
